National News:Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Bihar and West Bengal today to launch development projects worth more than ₹18,000 crore and to address public gatherings. His tour comes just days before the possible announcement of the Bihar Assembly elections, making it politically very significant.

While the ruling NDA is highlighting this as a development push, opposition parties are attacking both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The visit has clearly set the stage for an intense political battle in the state.

Lalu Prasad Yadav Targets Nitish Kumar

Former Chief Minister and RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav strongly criticized Modi’s visit, linking it directly to Nitish Kumar’s politics. In a post on social media platform X, Lalu said that Prime Minister Modi is coming to Bihar to perform the “final rites” of Nitish Kumar’s politics and his party.

He shared a video saying that Gaya, the place Modi is visiting, is traditionally known for rituals performed for ancestors. According to him, Modi’s presence there symbolically represents the end of Nitish’s political career.

Lalu also accused the BJP-JD(U) alliance of betraying Bihar by not granting it special state status, denying voting rights to poor and backward communities, and running a “double-engine government” that has only pushed Bihar further into poverty and lawlessness.

Tejashwi Yadav Questions 11 Years of Rule

Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav also attacked the Prime Minister before his rally in Gaya. In his post on X, Tejashwi wrote that a “shop of lies and slogans” will be set up in Gaya today. He said that Modi will deliver big speeches, but the people of Bihar will not be misled.

Tejashwi demanded that Modi give a full account of his 11 years as Prime Minister and also explain the 20 years of NDA rule in Bihar. According to him, despite so many years of power, the promises of development remain unfulfilled.

He further said that Bihar’s people will stand strong like Dashrath Manjhi, the “Mountain Man,” and break through the wall of lies and empty slogans. He even shared a video asking why the Prime Minister speaks “so many lies day and night,” adding that Bihar’s citizens have already given their answer through their voices.

Opposition Steps Up Campaign

The atmosphere in Bihar is already charged with political statements. Recently, opposition leaders released a song attacking the government over the SIR issue. At the same time, Tejashwi Yadav has joined Rahul Gandhi in his “Voter Rights Yatra,” which aims to connect directly with citizens and highlight governance failures.

As Bihar heads closer to elections, Modi’s visit is seen as both a show of development work and a political strategy. While the prime minister will highlight big infrastructure projects, the opposition is ready to counter him by demanding accountability and questioning his record.
